It was with great sadness that we farewelled my brother Alexander at the Uniting Church in Toorak, Melbourne last Friday.

Dr Alexander (“Zander” or “Zeke” to family and friends) Boyd Dunlop, eldest son of Weary and Lady Helen Dunlop, passed away peacefully at Cyril Jewell House, Melbourne, after a long illness. Remembered as a prankster par excel lance by Scotch College, Monash rugby, Melbourne Scots and Ormond College men, his famous streak at the MCC was typical. A gifted student, sportsman, rugby player and famous individualist, caring doctor, devoted and loving father to Edward and Diana, brother and  uncle.   Fondly remembered by all.

  1. To the Dunlop Family my condolences. I worked as a nurse at Bundoora Repat hospital and had always found Dr. Alex Dunlop to be a well respected and a caring man. R.I.P. Alex

  2. Dear Mr Dunlop,

My belated condolences on the death of your brother. I am reading “Forgotten Highlander” by Alistair Urquart, a POW on the Death Railway and the story he told of your father’s bravery and leadership has led me here. We will not see his like again.
